Personally

There is so much that I am passionate about – I have bicycled throughout Europe and backpacked for months at a time in Mexico and Southeast Asia where I was continuously in awe of how profoundly simple and beautiful life is for so many. As well, I find the same opportunities for adventure and synchronicity wherever I reside, whether in bustling New York City or sunny and mellow Southern California – every day feels like an exciting journey and I am always reminded of how important it is to stay “awake” because I don’t want to miss any of it!

When I am not coaching, I spend my time taking classes in and attending improvisational comedy and acting, going to see live music and theater, singing Karaoke and playing Rock Band, attending Buddhist meditation and other spiritual and writing retreats, playing Ultimate Frisbee, DANCE!!!, running in the park and on the beach, singing and playing my guitar, taking weekend getaways, and appreciating good food and drink with great friends. And, when visiting NYC, spending time with my 93 year old former neighbor lady watching Jeopardy and drinking Sprite spritzers while learning how “not to sweat the small stuff”.

I am the former Director of OUTdancing (2001 – 2006), NYC’s premiere LGBT latin, ballroom, and swing dance program at Stepping Out Studios in Manhattan where I spent hours each day engaging in one of my passions of many years: DANCE!!

Dani currently lives in Santa Monica, CA near the beach with her furkids, Rocco (a well-built “Chiweenie” rescue) and Donny (a handsome and burly feline rescue from the streets of the Bronx). Rocco is also a regular at a nearby assisted living center for the elderly where he gets a lot of attention from the residents – he really knows how to turn on the charm and is a real ham:).

*Additional professional-related background:
Having spent many years in career and workforce development, employment and training management, staffing and recruitment, and human resources management, both in New York and San Francisco, with such organizations as the New York Software Industry Association, MBA Info Tech, the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Management Group, and The ARC-SF, Dani has had the unique opportunity to coach and train scores of working professionals in the midst of career transitions; challenging and supporting them to do and become more than they thought possible. She developed and conducted workshops on career coaching and other various career-building and career-related issues at NYU (New York University) and CUNY (City University of New York) – both at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
